GROWING DISCIPLES

Pastoral Plan for the Diocese of Peoria
We have several updates regarding our Growing Disciples initiative:

— The Growing Disciples Core Team has met with the Pastoral Commission (comprised of parishioners from each vicariate) and the Presbyteral Council (comprised of priests from each vicariate) to review the Round Three models it created based on the feedback from the Round Two models. All the feedback from both meetings has been submitted to the Bishop to consider
as part of his discernment.

— The Round Three models recommended to the Bishop by the Core Team will be made public. The Bishop wanted you to see the information he is discerning for several reasons:
- He is committed to transparency in the Growing Disciples process.
- There are changes from the Round Two models based on the feedback the Core Team received.
- It will help all of us begin to work within our parish community and nearby parishes to prepare hearts and minds for change. Regardless of what may happen to our parish, everyone will experience a change, whether it is a new structure for our parish or the parish we grew up in, a new priest, or a renewed commitment and focus to evangelization and growing disciples.

The Round Three models will be posted on growingdisciplescdop.org on Sunday, March 10 at 6 pm.

The time for the Bishop’s discernment has begun. He will take everything he has heard and seen, revisit notes and letters, and bring it all to prayer. Please pray that the Holy Spirit continues to guide him and the Growing Disciples process.

Please email growingdisciples@cdop.org with any questions or concerns you may have.

MONTICELLO PEACE MEALS

Monticello Peace Meals is in need of Volunteer Drivers! This means delivering meals to our Monticello Senior Citizens that are in need of help feeding themselves for multiple reasons. Money is not always the reason.

Every 9 weeks is the schedule. Peace Meals is in need of three drivers on that ninth week. Those days each time are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Delivery time is 11:30am to 12:30pm. Some of the regular volunteers are done in under 30 minutes.

Monticello Peace Meals is located at 224 East Livingston—West side of Nicks Park. The double glass doors facing Nicks Park is where you would enter.

They are very grateful for all our support.

St. Philomena/St. Michael has committed to providing volunteers in May, July, September, and November. If you are interested in being a Volunteer Driver for Monticello Peace Meals, please contact Becky in the Parish Office to sign up for our next delivery dates: May 20th, 21st and 23rd.

PRAYER BREAKFAST

You are invited by the local Ministerial Alliance to participate and be prayed for during our local gathering for the 2024 National Day of Prayer. Established in 1952, by a joint resolution of the United State Congress, the National Day of Prayer is an annual event on the first Thursday in May that was signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. The observance of the National Day of Prayer is founded on the constitutional rights of freedom of speech and freedom of religion and can be celebrated by all Americans.

This year we will meet at the First Presbyterian Church on Thursday, May 2, from 6:45am to 8:00am. A pancake breakfast will be served from 6:45am to 7:15am followed by a time of prayer for our nation and local needs. The plan is to be done well before 8:00am so people can get to work on time.

Please respond so we know how many to expect by sending an email to openhearts4@yahoo.com so we can plan accordingly.

We hope you can attend, The Ministerial Alliance
